How Does It Work?

Endoscopes are like telescopes. It allows you to see small or distant objects, making them appear nearer and bigger. However, unlike the telescopes with rigid scopes, endoscopes are very flexible and could get inside a human body, passing through small organs without causing damage to surrounding tissues.

Endoscopes have optical cables containing optical fibers. These cables serve as light, and the other one as a reflected light that transfers images to the eyepiece where the physician makes his observations and examinations. Endoscopes are used for both examinations and minor surgeries. When used in minor operations, endoscopes are used with lasers in order to remove damaged tissues without having to make a big incision.

One of the most popular types is the Olympus 190 video processor. It is a highly innovative medical equipment commonly used in diagnostic laboratories, clinics, and hospitals today.
