Uses of Flexible Endoscopes

Flexible endoscopes are among the most common type of endoscopes used in hospitals and diagnostic centers to examine the gastrointestinal tract. These instruments are easy to maneuver as they are made with flexible transparent fibers that transmit light and carry the images back to the examiner.

These flexible endoscopes are commonly used in examination as well as in performing minor surgeries or removing tissue samples for testing or biopsy. Flexible endoscopes can be used in endoscopic procedures of virtually all parts of the body including the lungs, urinary tract, throat, abdominal cavity, and even the ears.
